Cordless vacuums live or die by daily usability. The best specification sheet cannot rescue a machine that feels heavy, has nowhere to dock or makes bin emptying unpleasant.
Match the machine to your floor
Hard floors, rugs, wall-to-wall carpet, stairs and pet hair place different demands on the head and attachments. Start with the surface you clean most, then check whether the included tools cover the rest.
Treat runtime as a range
Published runtime usually changes with power mode and motorised tools. Think in cleaning zones: can you finish the kitchen and living room, or the whole home, before charging? Bigger homes may benefit from a removable battery or a second charging option.
Weight is more than a number
Balance and where the motor sits affect fatigue. If you clean stairs, shelves or the car, pay attention to handheld use and how easily attachments swap, not only the total weight.
Plan storage and emptying
A wall dock needs a suitable fixing point and nearby power. A floor dock consumes space but can reduce handling. Auto-empty systems add convenience, while simple bins keep the setup smaller and cheaper.
